the july post

It’s been a really long time since I posted and likely no one even comes here anymore. But, for my own sake I should journal a few thoughts. Here is a list of things I have learned this summer:

1. School sucks and the working life is awesome. I’m sure my sentiment will change someday, but I’m really enjoying the lack of lingering homework assignments and tests to study for.

2. It’s hard to move back home. After living away from my family for almost two years straight, I spent three weeks with them before moving into my new house. I don’t know how to explain it. Simply stated, it is just tough to live with the family again once you have left.

3. Beer tastes good. In moderation of course.

4. Too many friends are getting married. But I’m happy for all of them.

5. A $17, one-pound-plus steak is about the closest one can get to heaven here on earth. I highly recommend grilling up your own ridiculously thick, expensive steak every once in a while.

6. Guns are really, really fun. This includes handguns, shotguns, and semi-automatic rifles. Thanks to my dad and the men of Mars Hill Church for teaching me this.

7. Morning quiet times are so productive and meaningful. I seriously love getting up and reading the Word while enjoying breakfast. I never could do it before, but now that I get to sleep early enough I find it easy.

8. Girls are hard to understand. However, thanks to For Men Only and For Women Only I know a lot more about relating to the opposite sex. Go get those books right now.

9. Spending copious amounts of time with Jessie makes me happy. Enough said.

10. There is a time towards the end of the work day when things are winding down and one ponders if it is worth it to go find some more work to do, but instead one blogs. That time is now.
