I just bought my sixth pair of the Mizuno Wave Alchemy.
Wave Alchemy 8
Of course, that is over the course of four years, but still. I am addicted.
On the upside, I was officially welcomed to Madison by my new favourite running store: Berkeley Running Company. They remind me of the glory days of Foot Zone (that is, when I worked for them during high school). Fantastic customer service and great knowledge of shoes and feet, and a huge bonus, they didn’t hesitate to order in my favourite shoes. (They only carry three Mizunos for women: Wave Creation, Wave Rider, and Wave Nirvana.) Hopefully they will bring in some other styles/support types. But I will say, I am a huge fan of the Wave Nirvana. If it wasn’t $40 more than the Alchemy, I would have bought it in a heat beat. It is very reminiscent of the Asics Kayano but actually fit my feet.
OK. That is my story about how awesome my new running store is. I cannot wait to buy my next pair of shoes. Perhaps, if I decide to train for the MadCity Marathon in May, I will buy the Wave Nirvana. Hmmm…
Our friends Red & Brown (yah, not their real names) are coming to visit this weekend. They are hard core enough to drive around the entire country this summer despite the rising gas prices. Regardless. We are excited to have them visit and show them around Madison.
You can follow their journey around the country on their website. They have access to the net throughout their journey so they are updating their blog with photos and their location on the map.
Immediately after receiving our Canon EOS Rebel XTI , we bought a Pro account from Flickr so we could share our adventures with our friends, family, and anyone else we meet along the way.
We also joined some of the Madison-related groups on flickr so we can get to know our surroundings and share photos with other local photographers. The Isthmus group selects one photo each day from a huge pool (over 400 users) and publishes their favourite online under their “Madison Snaps” section. It just so happens that a second photo of ours was published today! (I blogged about the first time we were published.)
Anyway. I just wanted to give Robb a pat on the back. I am pretty sure he took this photo a few weeks ago.
I am longing to be here.
Hiking amongst the tall trees,
valleys and hills,
secluded lakes,
crisp morning air, and
roaring rivers.
Sleeping under the stars
in my green tent.
Where can I find this in Wisconsin?
Eager to try out our new Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, I have made cupcakes and a strawberry shortcake. And on Monday, Robb made his first cake from scratch. In a desire to rise above the standard in his lab for making birthday cakes from a box, Robb decided to prepare a lovely cocoa devils food cake with mocha frosting and raspberries. Happy birthday, BK!
