Doggy Paddle

My friend told me this nice analogy dealing with our path towards Jesus. We are all walking on a road together in the same direction. Our destination is Jesus. And we can all see him for miles and miles because he is so big and beautiful. He is our only focus.

I like that part about Jesus being our only focus. I like that we are all together heading in the same direction.

But lately, I feel like we are all in an ocean or a swiftly moving river. Everyone else has a life boat, or life jackets, or are fine swimmers. I feel like I keep getting pushed under the water because I don’t have any of those safety devices nor can I swim.

Help me Jesus.

Mmmmhmm I concur.

Although, I feel like maybe I jumped out of the life boat.

I miss you,
too.

Plus a cookie.

I like what both of you said and I feel the same way about both. Except maybe I smashed my lifeboat / pirate schooner on a rocky island because of some Norwegian, folk-musician Sirens whose voices I knew would be my demise in the end.

Sigh.

(my blog changed, by the way.. hm)

I definitely agree that our destination is Jesus, and that is something only a child of God will understand.

But I’m not so sure if I can believe that you and I are swimming towards that, because that idea doesn’t agree with real life. I think life and God’s word teaches us a more beautiful lesson. That all of us are drowning, and we can’t swim to God, let alone tread water to keep our head afloat. But Jesus is pretty much superB in that he saves us because he loves us, not because we are good swimmers.

I like that story better.
