I understand the Meile coveting. The first big purchase we made as an engaged couple waiting to be married was our vacuum. I love my husband for trying to understand. I figured this thing's gotta be with us FOR LIFE.

We didn't get a Meile, instead we got a Riccar, which is one step below in quality and price. I'm sort of regretting it. It is very quiet and does a good job but we had to take it in for repairs in the first year (under warranty) and the plastic canister feels a bit flimsy to me. I am a "vigorous" vacuumer, so it's gotta hold up.

To be honest, I used my in-laws Dyson over Christmas and I just about strangled the thing because I couldn't figure out how to use it and I had to keep emptying it. I guess I'm stuck in my ways :)

Regardless, have fun!

hehehe! When have whatever the pet hair version of the dyson is, which is purple. We call it our purple lego eater. But since storm troopers are so much a part of our daily vocabulary (my boys actually think garlic heads can even pass as the masked galactic warriors), they would *much* prefer your version.
